Ask Pimpernel
An assistant that answers only from Pimpernel's own vetted guides — with the sources, an honest confidence rating, and a real human to check anything that actually matters. Not an AI guessing from the open web; not a chatbot that sounds sure and is wrong.
Preview — the answer engine is a demo; the human review is realAnyone can paste a question into ChatGPT. The difference is what stands behind the answer.
01
It answers from our own researched, British-in-France guides — kept current for 2026 — and shows you exactly which ones. It won't confidently invent a French deadline it's never read.
02
Every answer carries a confidence rating. When a question is consequential — a visa, a tax bill, an inheritance — it says so, rather than bluffing its way through.
03
The bit worth paying for. Anything that actually matters can be handed to a real person who checks it before you rely on it. Accountability a chatbot can't offer.
The honest pitch. Navigating France and the rest are, increasingly, charging you for a wrapper around the same AI you can already use for free. We think that's a thin thing to sell. Pimpernel's answer is the opposite: an assistant that only speaks from what we've actually verified, that admits when it's out of its depth, and that puts a human between you and the mistakes. You're not paying for the text — you're paying for someone to make sure it's right.
This is an early preview. The answer engine currently draws on a limited set of our guides to demonstrate how grounded, cited answers work, and will expand to the full Library. Answers are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice, and for consequential matters the human-review step and a qualified professional (notaire, avocat, expert-comptable) remain essential. Nothing here is a substitute for official confirmation.
